What it does

Shows your GitHub notifications merged across every connected account, with an unread count in the header.

Each row carries a reason badge telling you why the notification exists, colour-coded by how much it probably matters: security advisories in red; review requests, mentions, team mentions and assignments in amber; things you authored in the accent colour; everything else muted. Then the subject title, the repository, and how long ago it arrived.

Read items render dimmed, unread at full strength, so the list stays scannable without you filtering it.

Two switches shape the feed: whether to include already-read notifications, and whether to restrict it to threads you are participating in rather than everything you watch.

Where the data comes from

The GitHub notifications API, per connected account, refreshed on a timer you set. Requires at least one GitHub account connected in the app’s settings.

Limits

  • It cannot mark notifications as read or unsubscribe from a thread; those happen on GitHub.
  • Notification reasons come from GitHub’s own vocabulary; the widget colours them but does not invent new categories.
  • With no account connected the widget prompts you to sign in rather than showing an empty list.
