Color
A solid or gradient block for structuring a layout.
What it does
A rectangle of colour. It carries no data and does no work; it exists to give a layout structure: a tinted band behind a group of widgets, a divider, a block of brand colour.
Two modes:
- Solid: one colour with adjustable opacity.
- Gradient: two colours with their own opacities and a rotation angle.
Because opacity is adjustable, it doubles as a wash over the wallpaper to make widgets sitting on top of it more legible.
The layer setting controls whether it sits behind or in front of neighbouring widgets, which is what makes the “tinted panel behind a group” arrangement work.
This widget renders without a header.
Where the data comes from
Nothing. It is a colour value in the widget’s settings.
Limits
- Rectangles only: no rounded shapes, borders, images or text.
- Two-stop linear gradients; no radial gradients or multi-stop ramps.
